02 Ingredients
2 Pork Chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
2 tbsp Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil
Salt (to taste)
Black Pepper (to taste)
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Paprika
1 large Onion (sliced)
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 ½ cups Chicken Broth
2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Dried Thyme (optional)
03 Method
Step 1
Season the Pork Chops with Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Paprika.
Step 2
Heat Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the Pork Chops for 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 3
In the same skillet, add sliced Onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add minced Garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 4
Sprinkle in the Flour and stir to make a roux. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
Step 5
Slowly add Chicken Broth while stirring to form a smooth gravy. Stir in Worcestershire Sauce, Soy Sauce, and Thyme (if using).
Step 6
Return the Pork Chops to the skillet and spoon some gravy over them. Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, or until the pork chops are tender and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 145°F / 63°C).
Step 7
Serve the smothered pork chops with the rich gravy, accompanied by mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the sauce.
