02 Ingredients
2 long Hoagie Rolls
300g Thinly Sliced Ribeye Steak (or sirloin)
1 medium Onion (thinly sliced)
2 tbsp Olive Oil or Butter
4 slices Provolone Cheese (or ½ cup Cheese Whiz)
Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)
Optional Green Bell Pepper (sliced)
Optional Mushrooms (sliced)
03 Method
Step 1
Heat 1 tbsp Oil or Butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add the Onion (and optional Peppers or Mushrooms) and sauté until soft and lightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Step 3
Add remaining Oil to the skillet, then cook the thinly sliced Steak, stirring often, for 3–4 minutes until just cooked through. Season with Salt and Black Pepper.
Step 4
Return the cooked Onion (and optional veggies) to the skillet, mixing with the Steak.
Step 5
Place slices of Provolone Cheese over the meat mixture (or drizzle Cheese Whiz). Let the cheese melt and combine.
Step 6
Slice the Hoagie Rolls lengthwise, then lightly toast if desired.
Step 7
Spoon the beef and cheese mixture into the rolls, pressing gently to fill evenly.
